PRIMARY SCHOOL SUBJECTS IN GHANA
Basic Education in Ghana lasts for 11 years. The curriculum is free and compulsory (Age 4-15) and is defined as "the minimum period of schooling needed to ensure that children acquire basic literacy, numeracy and problem solving skills as well as skills for creativity and healthy living" The Basic Education in Ghana is divided into Kindergarten, Primary school and Junior High School (JHS), which ends on the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)

Upper and Lower Primary
Primary school in Ghana is divided into two segments. That is Lower and Upper Primary. The Lower Primary consists of primary 1 – 3 and 4 – 6 is the upper primary. The under listed subjects are thought in both upper and lower primary respectively.
